The diocese of ruwenzori is one of the 37 Dioceses which constitute the Church of the Uganda (Anglican).
The Diocese of Ruwenzori was inaugurated on 3oth june 1960 by the division of the Diocese of Uganda;covering the area of Tooro-Bunyoro-Mboga with Rt.Rev.Eric Sabitias its first Bishop the Diocesethen comprised of three Archdeaconaries;Tooro,Bunyoro and Mboga Zaire
